All requests for public information must be submitted in writing by hand delivery, mail, or email, and must be addressed to:

Requests for public information sent to agency staff other than the Public Information Officer will not receive a response.  Only written requests to the Public Information Officer trigger the Council’s obligations under the Public Information Act.  Requests made via telephone will not receive a response.

Individuals requesting public information may utilize the official Texas Public Information Act Information Request Form, a fillable PDF form available for download by clicking here.  Use of this form is not mandatory.

A request for public information should be for documents or other information that is already in existence.  The Council is not required to answer questions, perform legal research, or comply with a continuing request to supply information on a periodic basis as such information is prepared in the future.

Effective September 1, 2023 and in accordance with Section 552.11765 of the Gov’t Code, the following information related to an applicant or current or former licensee is confidential and excepted from the Public Information Act:

  1. license application(s);
  2. home address and telephone number;
  3. electronic mail address;
  4. social security number;
  5. date of birth;
  6. driver’s license or state identification number;
  7. passport number;
  8. emergency contact information; and
  9. payment information.
